Neon Icones series

This series began with a simple personal question and brief that I gave to myself: How do you bring brightness and life into spaces that feel too heavy, classical or traditional?

I was searching for the liaison. Inheriting a house full of wood, granite and golden details - I wanted to keep its dignity, but also infuse it with me, with freshness. So I turned to contemporary French cottage style décor: white bases with burst of neon colour. 

That neon colour and the golden details found in the house became a perfect combination that expanded into painting. I imagined Greek statues glowing in neon colours against restrained classical backgrounds from renaissance. All this turned into a dialogue between weight and lightness, history and the present.

The result is a playful reimagining of antiquity, where mythological gods appear as vibrant, modern presences.
